Welcome to the finale of the Fish Pageant, the viewing of contestant for Grand Supreme has concluded and scores have been totaled. We are going to run through all of our amazing contestants one more time before we announce the winner.

Our first contestant was majestic Parrotfish who showed off every color in the rainbow in bright hues. They won most exotic because they swim with their pectoral fins. The delicate veining if their veins resembles the wings of a parakeet. They also had two elite special skills. One was their ability to change gender when the supermale in their harem died. The next is a survival skill, Parrotfish is able to secret mucus from the top of their head into a safety mucus cocoon. This masks their smell and helps hide them from eels, their main predator. They are also extremely charitable and work tirelessly creating new sand for the ocean floor. They also lead an anti-parasite platform that helps to save many corals every year; they work tirelessly removing parasites from sweet innocent corals. Parrotfish are an amazing contestant for the fish pageant and are expected to place highly.

Our favorite silvery streak is up next- with sharp uneven teeth and a reflective mirror body its Barracuda. Even though a retainer would be beneficial to their beauty scores they blew away the competition with their tremendous speed. They are quicker than Usain Bolt being able to swim 35 mph due to their streamline figure. Barracudas are dedicated to keeping our oceans healthy and safe. They spend a lot of time fighting off hard criminals like groupers, snappers, anchovies, and tuna. This helps keep the reef streets free of crime and overpopulation. Although they are widely regarded as monsters because of their heartbreaking appearance in Finding Nemo, it is important to remember that everyone has bad days.

Next up is everyone's favorite little Angel, the Cherubfish. They are called dwarf angels because of their petite size of only 3.2 inches. Their colors are a rich royal blue and their face is a golden yellow; because of their beauty many other fish attempt to befriend them. This works out poorly for those suitors because the Cherubfish is small, mighty and extremely territorial. When they are kept in captivity they must be housed with tank mates equal in size and aggression; they will bully and sometimes murder any fish more docile than them, because of this the Cherubfish earned a relatively low score in social skills. When a fish gets near them that they are unfamiliar with they will begin to emit a deep growl that sounds like drums. Who would imagine that this angry little beast would have such a passion for gardening? They are often found removing algae (the dandelions of the sea) from rocks and eliminating shrimp on their lawn. An overall very sturdy contestant with just a few undesirable traits.

Our final contestant on the fish pageant is Queen Angelfish. The Cinderella of the fish world and this pageant. As a young fish/princess they were a golden yellow with electric blue stripes decorating their body. Princess worked on the bottom of the reef eating whatever scraps they were able to find on the ground. Eventually they were able to move up to being a maid for a larger fish; Princess would spend day and night cleaning parasites off of fish just to get a meal. Eventually Princess transitions into Queen Angelfish and now lives in the high castle parts of the reef. Her stripes fade making her body blue and then is covered in golden speckles. A royal blue crown forms on top of her head so that the whole reef knows she is the rightful ruler. Growing a maximum length of 18 inches Queen Angelfish has ample space to show off their beauty. Not only looking like royalty but now they eat like royalty too, they are one of the few fish who are able to eat sponges. The Queen Angelfish seemed perfect in every way, especially their dedication to a single life long partner; however their one flaw is too large to overlook. Their only downfall was their abandonment of all 10 million of their children. Queen Angelfish was a striking contestant and we were lucky to have their attendance.
Now it is time to announce our awards….

Parrotfish really blew us away from day one and they really pulled over the top with all their community service and exotic colors. Congratulations again Parrotfish!
Cool blog post! I have never heard of any of these fish before, but now I know some. It was interesting to learn more about fish and some awesome things they can do! I am so glad the Parrotfish won because that was my favorite one while reading this post. I was so shocked when I read that they could change genders. How bizarre!
